Writing Center is open sign

Open for the Spring Semester:

The Writing Center is delighted to be able to offer our usual full array of services for the Spring 2021 semester. In addition to 30 or 60 minute individual tutorial sessions -- where we can address any aspect of writing at any stage of the process, prioritizing for areas of greatest concern -- the Writing Center will also continue to provide outreach visits and tailored workshops. Any instructor interested in a short virtual outreach visit or in collaborating on a tailored program of writing support should contact Dr. Kevin Rulo at rulo@cua.edu for further details.

Individual tutorial sessions will be exclusively online for Spring 2021. Students will have the option of synchronous or asynchronous sessions. Synchronous sessions will be conducted via Zoom. For asynchronous sessions, students will submit their papers and receive written feedback. Both types of appointments can be made via our website and the EAB scheduler. Please see our website for more details and below for more information about how to schedule appointments. We look forward to helping students with all their writing needs this semester!

Scheduling Synchronous Virtual Appointments:

Use the “Make an Appointment with the Writing Center” link on our homepage. That will take you to your Cardinal Success page, where you can click on the blue "Get Assistance" button in the upper right corner of the page. You will then need to answer a few questions:
  • What type of appointment would you like to schedule? Academic Support
  • Please select the type of support you need: Writing Center Appointment
  • Please select a service: Choose from the given options, the one that best describes your writing project.
  • What location do you prefer? Mullen Library
  • Who would you like to meet with? Choose one or more tutors to view their availability or leave blank to view all the tutors' availability.
After you've answered the above questions you will be redirected to a calendar view of the available appointments. Select the time that works best for you. When you confirm your appointment, please include in the comment box a brief description of the writing project, which course it is for, and what you would like to focus on in the session.
