In-Person and Virtual Events this Fall

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of English Society and we are excited to announce a series of events that will be held both in-person and via Zoom this semester:

Afternoon Tea

Join English majors/minors and faculty for informal conversation (and the occasional round of trivia) during this bi-weekly meeting. Sadly, no actual tea will be served due to covid rules, but we're looking forward to another great semester of fun discussion!

Our March Afternoon Teas will be held on Wednesday, March 10th and 24th. We will be meeting in person in Pryz 321/323 from 12:30-1:30pm. Come for some informal conversation with English majors and faculty.

To attend in person, please reserve a seat by adding your name and email address to this form (also includes tabs for all the teas this semester).

The Zoom link will be sent out to the English major and faculty listservs before each Afternoon Tea.

March Book Discussion: The Road

Monthly book discussions are a long-standing tradition for English Society and are open to all members of the CUA community, as well as undergraduate and graduate alumni. This semester all of our meetings will take place both in-person and via Zoom.

Monday, March 22nd, 8-9pm: Cormac McCarthy's The Road

To attend in person, please reserve a seat by adding your name and email address to this form (includes tabs for all the book discussions).

The Zoom link will be sent out to the English major and faculty listservs before each book discussion, but all members of the CUA community, including alumni, are welcome to join! To request a link, please email Dr. Taryn Okuma (okuma@cua.edu).

Save the date for our April book discussion! Monday, April 19th, 8-9pm: Toni Morrison's Beloved.
