Vermilion, Catholic University’s online magazine for creative writing and the arts, is proud to announce the launch of Issue 2 | Spring 2022.
This Spring, Vermilion sought to further cultivate spaces for under-represented arts at the university. Our second issue introduces the dramatic arts category to the magazine and, in addition to the issue, Vermilion hosted its first visual art exhibition: VISUAL.
We are so proud to display the incredible creative talent in our community.
We are grateful to everyone who has supported the magazine in its first year, and, in a particular way, we are grateful for all the seniors on the student editorial board: David Brennan, Robbie Cruz, Mary Harding, and Caroline Morris. The magazine would not exist without their dedicated work and commitment in their final year here at Catholic U. We have been blessed by the dedication of the student and faculty editorial boards, the talent of all the contributing authors and artists, the support of the Catholic community, and the tireless effort of our advisor Dr. Okuma.
If you share our love for beauty and the arts, we invite you to consider joining the Vermilion staff. Membership on the student editorial board requires that you enroll in English 220 next semester, so don’t hesitate! Come be a part of our mission to create a home for creative writing and the arts at Catholic U.
We know that the end of the semester brings its unique challenges and stresses, so we invite you to take a moment, let your mind be at peace, and enjoy the beautiful art displayed in Vermilion.
Your Editors-in-Chief,
Jessica Wyeth (B.A. Politics ‘23) & Matthew Sawtelle (PhB ‘23)
