Call for Staff

Dear Undergraduates,

Are you looking for a class that prvides first-hand experience in the editorial or publishing field? If so, I invite you to consider joining the staff of Vermilion. Founded in 2021, Vermilion is Catholic University's student-run, online literary magazine. Vermilion publishes original literary fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, screenwriting, drama, and visual art by members of the entire Catholic University community from students to faculty, staff, and alumni.

Vermilion is operated entirely by undergraduate students. With staff positions ranging from Social Media Manager to Associate Editor, Vermilion offers opportunities for students of all majors and interests to learn and develop their skills. These opportunities prepare students for internships and careers in multiple fields, including editing and publishing, social media marketing, advertising, and web design.

To join Vermilion's editorial staff, students should enroll in ENG221: Literary magazine Production. This three-credit course, which can be taken as an elective or can count towards the Writing minor, will meet on Wednesdays and Fridays in the spring.
