Join the Inventio Student Editorial Board
Inventio, the multidisciplinary undergraduate research journal at CUA under the aegis of the Office of Undergraduate Studies, is seeking applications from current undergraduates for positions on the 2020-21 Student Editorial Board (SEB). Inventio: The Undergraduate Research Journal of The Catholic University of America is a yearly academic research journal that publishes original undergraduate research in theology, philosophy, the humanities, and the social sciences. Positions currently available: Assistant Associate Editor, Assistant Managing Editor, Head Layout Editor, Assistant Web Content Editor, Social Media Manager, Copyeditors, Layout Assistants
The application deadline is October 15th.
Members of the Inventio SEB have the opportunity to receive in-depth exposure to the peer-review process and the operation of a humanities research journal. A goal of the program is to improve all of these skills through experience and mentorship. SEB members will be required to enroll in a 3-credit course “UGS/HSLS 328: Undergraduate Research Journal Production” as part of their initial training.

Phi Beta Kappa First Year Experience Essay Prize
Authors of outstanding essays written for First Year Experience classes in Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 are invited to submit their work for the Phi Beta Kappa First Year Experience Essay Prize, which includes publication in Inventio: The Undergraduate Research Journal of The Catholic University of America. Inventio encourages Catholic University undergraduates to submit their research in theology, philosophy, the humanities, the arts, and the social sciences for publication.
Essays written for First Year Experience (FYE) classes should be submitted by December 31, 2020. This deadline applies only to FYE submissions.
