The Writing Center will continue to offer online writing consultations through the end of finals week and also during the summer sessions. So if you need some last-minute help this semester or assistance over the summer, the Writing Center continues to be here for you for all your writing needs.
The University held this April another successful and impressive Research Day. We in the Writing Center are proud to acknowledge the distinguished research of our Undergraduate Tutors Elizabeth Hughes and Anna Stephens, both of whom presented at this year's University Research Day. Elizabeth Hughes presented her research, a study conducted in collaboration with DSS Director Caitlin Rothwell, on approaches to working with students with ADHD in the Writing Center. Anna Stephens gave a poster presentation on fostering confidence and motivation in support of first-year student writers. Congratulations to both of them for their amazing research and contributions to writing studies!
Every spring semester, we in the Writing Center are filled with mixed emotions as we have to say goodbye to our graduating staff. This year is all the more difficult given that we won't be able to do this in person. We are so grateful for the work of our staff, who do so much to help our writers, and we want to say a special word of thanks to our undergraduate senior tutors -- Marie Erickson, Marissa Liotta, Samuel Lopez, Joseph Rose, Isabelle Rosini, and Ray Wolfe -- and to our Outreach Coordinator and Writing Center Instructor, Grace Woo, who is receiving her M.A. this spring. We wish you all the best in the great work you will do in the future, and we will miss you!
